A 63-year-old unemployed builder identified as “Rolf Z” has been handed an 11-year prison sentence for the murder of a young British expat in Berlin last year.

Luke Holland, a 31-year-old internet entrepreneur, was shot dead outside a nightclub in Neu-köln last September.

The presiding judge Bernd Miczajka said the court was convinced ‘Rolf Z’ shot Mr. Holland at close range on the Ringbahnstraße.

In court ‘Rolf Z’ was painted as a tragic character – who kept a portrait and bust of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler in his apartment.
