In the wake of the controversy over the indecent wedding image that was posed outside a church in Ayia Thekla, the Diocese of Famagusta has moved to ban photos of civil weddings outside churches. In a strict letter sent to four Mayors in the area they are instructed to inform photographers and others that taking wedding photos at such locations will no longer be permitted.

Mayor of Ayia Napa: "Legal proceedings started immediately"

In a further development it was confirmed that the Municipality of Ayia Napa is seeking legal action against Mark & Samantha Simons for the images that were first revealed in an article in The Sun newspaper.

The controversy over the raunchy wedding photo trend shows no sign of calming down with another image circulating on the internet. This time the photo depicts a wedding couple in a similar pose although this time it had the popular area of Cavo Greko as the backdrop.
