Anorthosis Famagusta will be looking to surge four points ahead at the top of the league table on Monday as they entertain Doxa Katokopia.

Ronny Levy’s side have taken full advantage of the sluggish start by title challengers APOEL, Omonia, Apollon, AEK and AEL and could move four points ahead of second place AEK – who suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Nea Salamina on the weekend – if they beat Doxa at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium at 7pm.

APOEL and Apollon – who are both in European action this week – were both held to draws against Aris and AEL respectively and have lost ground in the league title race.

Omonia were also held to a 2-2 draw at home to newcomers Alki Oroklini.

Anorthosis had claimed an impressive 1-0 win away to APOEL in their previous league game while Doxa also go into the game on a high having beaten Nea Salamina 4-1 in their previous league game.

On Tuesday, Giorgos Donis’ APOEL will host Tottenham in their second Champions League game while Everton travel to Goodison Park to save Everton in their Europa League game.
