Average spend per visitor in June was €589 in Greece, compared to €1,065 in Spain and €735 in Cyprus.
When it comes to increased tourism revenue in the Mediterranean, Turkey topped the league in June, posting 27.1% year-on-year growth amounting to more than €1.5 billion.
In Cyprus tourism income spiked 15.3% from June 2016, and in the first six months of 2017 spending rose 19.9% from same January-June period last year reaching €996.4 million.
Spain enjoyed a 14.9% annual increase touching €8.98 billion.
Greece had a similar increase at 14.2% to exceed €2 billion, but from January to June the annual increase was a lower 7.1% from the first half of 2016.
