A slight decrease in prices is projected for March, with the inflation rate rising to -0,1% compared to -0,2% in February 2016 according to the EU statistical service Eurostat. This is lower than the desirable rate the Eurozone wants, just under 2%.

The European Central Bank is concerned that low or negative inflation will cause even more economic stagnation in the eurozone.

According the main inflation metrics, the service sector is projected to have the highest rate(1,3% compared to 0,9% in February), followed by the food, alcohol and tobacco sector(0,7% compared to 0,6% in February), industrial goods other than energy(0,5% compared to 0,7% in February) and finally the energy sector(-8,7% compared to -8,1% in February).
