Fire Service spokesman, Andreas Kettis, said the fire was quickly brought under control but it will take a while to be fully extinguished.
“There is no danger of expansion of the fire – the causes of the fire are expected to come out later in the day,” Kettis said.
“Damages are hard to be estimated at the moment, as the cars were abandoned and immobilised,” he noted.
Fire-fighters used three fire trucks to tackle the blaze with heavy winds hampering their task.
