A high-speed vehicle counter, valued at €6,000, has been stolen from the Larnaca-Ayia Napa motorway near the Oroklini exit.

The theft came to light on Monday was reported by a maintenance worker to the police in Oroklini. The worker believes the theft took place on Saturday morning at around 3 am.

The counter measures a variety of data on Cyprus’ motorways which are sent every five minutes to a Public Works Department central database. The last transmission was at 3 am on Saturday morning.

Police investigations are continuing.
