Burglars in Paphos have stripped a shop of its entire stock of wedding dresses with police estimating the stolen goods to be in the region of €28,000.

According to Paphos CID, the culprits entered the shop on Agapinoros Street by forcing the through the main entrance door before then making their escape with 40 wedding dresses totaling a combined a €28,000 as well as a large number jewellery items – whose value has yet to be estimated.

The theft is believed to have taken place between Friday night and Monday morning. Forensic investigators have combed the crime scene for finger prints and other evidence that may have been left behind by the burglars.

Meanwhile, police are on the lookout for two men who allegedly mugged a woman of 88 whilst she was in her garden at her home in Paphos.

According to police, one of the men snatched a gold necklace she had around her neck before they both ran off.
