Reminder: Strawberry Delights This Friday Night

The 12th Pancyprian Strawberry Festival - Deryneia will be held this Friday, 2nd June from 6pm, and it promises to be an event packed evening.

Every two years thousands of visitors, locals and tourists alike, attend the festival where they are able to indulge in a delightful array of free fresh strawberries, strawberry juice, jam, liquor, ice cream and much more. Local farmers and small family enterprises showcase a diverse selection of delectable, locally crafted goods, each infused with a genuine dedication and love for strawberries.

The festival, which started in 1999, is organised by the Deryneia Municipality in cooperation with the strawberry farmers of Deryneia. The primary objective of the festival is to celebrate and highlight the innovative strawberry farming practices and the resulting products. Deryneia (Dherynia) has gained a reputation for its rich tradition of strawberry cultivation, which was established over six decades ago. Over the years, the region has consistently yielded the highest quantities of strawberries in Cyprus, arguably boasting unparalleled quality as well.

The evening festival also offers a quality packed cultural and artistic program, with various bands and well known vocal acts in attendance such as Kostas Martakis, Akis Diksimos and Christina Ralli. There will be a variety of dance acts, live links from Mix FM and Sfera FM and various DJs. Plus games, face painting and activities for the children.

The Strawberry festival will be held at the football ground of Anagennisi Deryneia on the main Deryneia to Sotira road on Friday 2nd June 2023 starting at 6pm.

This is a popular FREE event - parking is available - getting there early is advised.
