Announcement by the JRCC regarding the joint search and rescue exercise between Cyprus and Greece "SALAMIS - 01/23"

Cyprus and Greece conducted today, Wednesday, 18th of January 2023, a bilateral Search and Rescue Exercise titled "SALAMIS 01/23".

The Search and Rescue Exercise was conducted in the SAR region of the Republic of Cyprus and included the Hellenic Navy Frigate "ELLI", a helicopter from the 460th SAR Squadron of the National Guard as well as specialised staff from the Ambulance Service of the Republic of Cyprus. This activity aims to ameliorate and upgrade the SAR cooperation and partnership in the East Mediterranean.

The Exercise, is part of the bilateral Search and Rescue Agreement between Cyprus and Greece and was coordinated by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC Larnaca) with the cooperation of the Hellenic Navy General Staff.
