Yellow warning for isolated heavy thunderstorms today

A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Department of Meteorology, for isolated heavy thunderstorms which are expected to affect the area today, Sunday, October 16th.

According to the warning, the intensity of rain is expected to vary between 35 and 50 millimetres per hour, whilst there is also a chance of hail.

The yellow warning covers the period from 3am until 4pm today.

A yellow rainfall warning indicates that you should: "Be aware of the potential for localised flooding of a small number of properties, with local disruption to outdoor activities. Difficult driving conditions due to reduced visibility and aquaplaning."
