According to police, the culprits struck on Sunday when the homeowner, a 72-year-old woman, was away for just four hours, between 9am and 1pm. The woman called the police as soon as she returned to her Linopetra home and realised what had happened.

Amongst the items stolen were a range of gold, diamond and pearl jewellery, €450 in cash, various electronic equipment including tablets, and sunglasses, all worth over €300,000.
