Non-performing loans (NPLs) decreased by €142 million in June 2021, according to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

This decrease reflects a 2.8 per cent aggregate drop compared to the previous month of available data.

“Total loans decreased by €242 million or 0.8 per cent from €28,633 million at end-March 2021 to €28,391 million at the end of June 2021,” the Central Bank said.

“As a result, a decrease in the ratio of NPLs to total loans was recorded from 17.9 per cent at end-March 2021 to 17.6 per cent at the end of June 2021”, the bank added.
