After various delays and several different suggested opening dates, Larnaca's first mall will now open this Thursday, 16th September, according to their website.
This highly anticipated shopping mall is described by the company as:
"a fully enclosed, single-level, climate controlled Shopping and Lifestyle Centre with a GLA (gross lettable area) of ± 30,000 m², servicing the greater Larnaca area and surrounding villages. Focused on offering customers the convenience of having all their needs met in one location, it will cater for families, kids, teens and adults alike."
"With over 100 shops and 1,400 parking bays, it will be home to all the leading international and local fashion brands and the ultimate shopping and leisure destination for groceries, fashion, homeware, shoes, accessories, services, restaurants and entertainment. The Mall will service the shopping needs of all customers within the trade area by bringing a comprehensive and wide mix of retailers, and ensuring there is sufficient critical mass to keep all customers satisfied."
With the countdown underway to opening day, the new mall's website details over 100 outlets with more likely to be added.
The Metropolis Mall is centrally located in the heart of Larnaca, and spans from Georgiou Griva Digeni to Giorgiou Christodoulidi roads with direct access from these roads. [View on Google maps]
The mall has six different entrances to avoid congestion, and offers easy access for people and families with mobility issues.
More than 750 new trees have been planted, walkways and bike paths have been built around the perimeter, offering shoppers a different experience.
The mall also has a covered dining area, hundreds of benches inside and out, and a playground offering families various entertainment options.
Metropolis Mall has some 1,450 parking spaces, the majority of which are underground.
