At 5am Sunday 10th January 2021, Cyprus entered its second lockdown as restrictions on movement came into force.
In addition a curfew is in place between the hours of 9pm and 5am.
To go outdoors, those who are under 65yrs old, must send an SMS (text) message to 8998 (no charge) in the correct format and await a reply.
Those who are over 65yrs old can either send an SMS (text) message or complete Form B below.
During the lockdown period people are allowed to go outside twice per day unless exemptions apply.
Exemptions are also in place for those who are travelling to or from work - no SMS is required but Form A below needs to be signed by the person's employer; those who are self-employed must fill out and sign the form themselves.
Please note: Regardless of which printed form is used, it must be completed prior to going outdoors and presented to police if requested. Citizens must also carry with them their identity card/passport - this applies to people on foot as well as motorists.
