Workers at Paphos Municipality announced a 48-hour strike effective as of midnight on Monday protesting the municipal council’s decision to privatise the garbage collection service, philenews reports.

The decision to go on strike was taken by workers’ unions last Thursday and concerns the entire municipality workforce, reportedly bringing the authority to its knees.
