The Central Bank of Cyprus revoked the licence of the bank in December 2015.
An announcement of the management committee of the Deposit Guarantee and Resolution of Credit and Other Institutions Scheme read as follows.
“Following the announcement dated 11 April 2016 and after the successful resolution of issues which had arisen with FBME staff, the Management Committee of the DGS announces that as of 15 June 2016 the procedure for the verification of Statements of Particulars and accompanying documentation as well as the identification of beneficiary depositors, will begin by authorised staff at the FBME premises at 90, Archbishop Makarios III Avenue in Nicosia, Cyprus.
“It is noted that this procedure is provided in the announcement of the Management Committee issued on 9 April 2016 regarding the activation of the DGS and the compensation by the Deposit Guarantee Fund for Banks.
“Depositors are invited as of 15 June 2016 and thereafter, to visit the FBME premises during bank working hours and days for the submission of duly completed and signed Statements of Particulars and relevant accompanying documentation.
“Provided that they receive a signed verification by authorised staff appointed by the Special Administrator in Part ΙΙΙ of the Statement of Particulars, depositors are invited to visit the Central Bank of Cyprus premises at 80, Kennedy Avenue in Nicosia, for further processing of their documentation.
“The above procedure is not necessary for depositors who have already submitted their particulars until 14 June 2016 at the Central Bank of Cyprus.
