Deposits in the Cypriot banking system rose by €144.9m to €45.9bn in April, the first month following the completion of Cyprus’s adjustment programme, as loans dropped €86.7, in a month to €56.7bn, the Central Bank of Cyprus said.

The liquidity gap narrowed as a result to €11.5bn, its smallest value since April 2013, the Central Bank of Cyprus said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.

The increase in deposits was mainly on inflows from households and non-financial corporations amounting to €165.8m and €110m to €27.8bn...
