Turkey Rules Out Cyprus Talks Before May

Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stated on Wednesday that would not be realistic to restart Cyprus talks before the European parliament elections, which will take place in May, 2019.

Speaking during a briefing to the Turkish Grand National Assembly’s foreign affairs committee, Cavusoglu expressed the view that a new process in Cyprus seemed unlikely, taking into account the fact that E.U. parliamentary elections were coming up.
