The number of Turkish Cypriots travelling from the UK to Tymbou (Ercan) airport in the north has fallen almost 18 per cent since the start of the year while the number coming in to the island via Larnaca and Paphos has jumped 4.2 per cent in the same period, reports in the north said on Monday.
According to Kibris newspaper, the change is due to higher prices for tickets to the north, which must first land in Turkey. The paper said this was also a factor since they could fly direct into the Republic from Britain.
