Bank deposits in the Cypriot banking system fell in gross terms by €482.7m to €45.7m in March 2016 from €46.2bn in February according to figures released by the Central Bank of Cyprus on Wednesday.

The net outflow adjusted for exchange-rate movements was reported at just €95.5 million.

Euro-denominated deposits were stable compared with the previous month at €36.2bn, while US dollar deposits fell to $8.3bn from $8.8bn in February.

Total loans in the banking system dropped to €57.5bn in March from €59.2bn in February, with most of the decline coming from domestic residents.
