Northern Cyprus Set for Coalition Government

Talks for a coalition government in the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) have been set to begin, after the right wing National Unity party (UBP) won parliamentary elections, but failed to secure a majority in parliament.

The UBP, led by current Prime Minister Huseyin Ozgurgun, got the most votes, with 35.57 percent, in Sunday’s election, Supreme Election Committee head Narin Sefik said.

The UBP managed to claim 21 seats in the parliament.
