Plastic money transactions up 13% in 2017, JCC...

Plastic money became more popular last year after transactions with cards rose 13 per cent compared to 2016 to €2.7bn and an annual 15 per cent to €310.9m in December alone, JCC Payment Systems said.

The use of local cards for transactions and cash withdrawals abroad rose 12 per cent in 2017 compared to 2016 and an annual 11 per cent in December to €148.5m, JCC, a consortium of local banks said in an emailed statement.
