A case of illegal possession and circulation of counterfeit notes is being investigated by Paphos Police according to the Cyprus News Agency.

A 60-year-old businessman reported to police that football fans from England, namely Everton fans, consumed various alcoholic drinks in his premises in Kato Paphos. It is alleged that they then paid for the drinks with counterfeit notes to the value of €250 euros.

According to the businessman, the customers were wearing Everton scarves and sweatshirts and paid with three €50 euro notes and five €20 euro notes.
